JDMC Sponsors Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers

Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers win the 2012 IBMA Emerging Artists of the Year award. Congratulations from Janet Davis Acoustic Music to Joe and all the Ramblers.

Janet Davis Acoustic Music is proud to be the official supply sponsor of Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers. Our new relationship was kicked off in grand style with Joe announcing it from the stage of the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on July 12, 2012 during their Ryman's Summer Bluegrass Series concert with Rhonda Vincent.

This was a very exciting occasion for us at Janet Davis Acoustic Music. When Joe announced that we had become an official sponsor, there was applause from the packed house for this announcement, from people besides us; so we must have some fans out there. But the night belonged to Joe and the Ramblers who received two standing ovations for their performance.

We first met Joe and the Ramblers when they performed last spring in the school house at Lucketts Bluegrass, in Lucketts, Virginia. Joe, a world-class banjo picker, is backed up by equally talented musicians, and when they sing in harmony, it is as near to perfect as we have ever heard. And Joe and his band are the nicest folks you could ever hope to meet.

We're proud to be associated with Joe and the Radio Ramblers, and we know you'll be hearing more from them in the future. They have been nominated for several IBMA awards; their third album, They're Playing My Song, is due in October from Rebel Records; and Joe is featured on the newly released Foggy Mountain Special, A Bluegrass Tribute to Earl Scruggs playing Earl's Breakdown. That selection debuted on the Bluegrass Today charts at #19 last week.
