Got your UP the Neck Book in NY yesterday. A real plus about you on the recordings is that you are low key and have no wasted words. When I have to replay teaching material like that it grates on my nerves if the voice is too loud, too verbose or "too cute". You really are quite the contributor to the banjo bluegrass world. Thanks! Bruce P

I received your "Up the Neck" video and book on Friday (by the way, thanks for the fast shipping), and watched it yesterday. It is a really great video, but the one tip I got from it, which really has nothing specifically to do with playing up the neck, was that you don't have to play the same strings in the roll patterns, just the finger sequence. I've only been playing banjo for a few months, and that really opened a door for me. Up to that point, I thought I was locked in to only playing the strings that were written out in the tablature. Thanks a million! Also, I am still enjoying my Johnson mandolin that I bought from you last year. Jackie B

Hi Janet: I bought your "up the Neck" audio cassette to augment your video tape. You did a great job with the cassette, covered every little detail in your book. It really fills the voids in the video and I love the up- to -speed versions. Now it makes more sense to me hearing it as it really is. You know your stuff. By the way, I visited Wayne Rogers, the founder of Goldtone in Titusville plant. And left the place with an Orange Blossom GT OB250! Now I have a 60's Gibson I'm putting on the market. Thanks for your help. Bud.

Dear Janet, As an intermediate player who is enjoying "the learning process" I would highly recommend, to anyone who wants to get a step up on playing, your book on "Up the Neck". This one is providing a key for learning that I couldn't get by myself. I would also recommend to the intermediates and beginners the fundamental information provided by Pat Cloud, and that is listening. Let your stack of CD's, tapes or records be as high as your song books. Thanks for providing such good information and advice. Ray S

Hey Janet! That "Up The Neck Book" is exactly what I've been looking for! I'm better than halfway through it now. Don R

Ms.Davis, Thanks so much for "Up The Neck". It's really great stuff. My 10 year old son plays banjo & dobro. He's not bad for a 10 year old! He is working on the 4 rolls along with their alternate rolls, along with dynamics. It's great stuff and we're real excited about what is fixin to take place resulting from this. Thanks again, Carol C
